USE OF BUILDING BY COTH MEMBERS

The COTH building can be used by COTH members in good standing if the COTH member is the lead or coordinator of the activity or event.

The COTH member must be present at the event and willing to take responsibility for any set-up, clean-up, and general supervision of activities during the event.

Additional COTH member responsibilities include:

  • Notification to the Outreach/PR Committee Chair of the details of the event/activity;
  • Notification to the church secretary of any cancellations, time changes, or significant changes to the activity/event.
  • Notification to participants in the case of cancellation for event changes or any reason;
  • Repairs or restitution for any damages caused to the building during the event or activity.

The COTH member is expected to seek, at a minimum, a love offering from the participants or attendees of the activity or event. COTH expects that 10% of any revenue or donations generated by the event is returned to the church to defray building expenses.

Requests for one-time or ongoing use of the building should be made in writing to the Building Committee chair and church secretary.

Upon approval by the Building Committee or Chair, the event will be scheduled on a master building calendar maintained by the church secretary.

It is the responsibility of the COTH member to communicate all information relevant to the event/activity to participants and serve as the primary contact for participants.

COTH Building availability is not guaranteed, although an attempt will be made to accommodate every request.

The COTH member/event host will coordinate building access with the church secretary.

Events/activities hosted or coordinated by COTH Members must be aligned with the Unity Principals and Building Use Vision to qualify as a COTH Ministry event and have the insurance requirement waived.

COTH members can be denied access to the building to host activities or events if:

  • Space required is not available at the time of the request;
  • COTH members have not shown responsibility when hosting prior activities and events or have violated any of the Building Use policy;
  • The activity and event directly contradicts or denounces the Unity principals or philosophy.
